Why You Don'T Know? Poem by James Meaney

Why You Don'T Know?

Your freckles so Beautiful
Your hair so brown
Your Beliefs so actual
I hope you don't run me down
-
In my class you sit next to me
we make funny noises
and sing our favorite songs
Killing the time blindly
and always keeping this question prolonged
-
Maybe because we love the banter
I look into your eyes and see laughter
But that's all it will ever be
cause I want this friendship to last
without a break up or silent boundary
-
Knowing whats right to me
Our friend-mance is greater than a relationship
So lets keep our good thing rolling
and walk this line like a play script
-
So why cant I shake this Grip
You have on my heart
on the edge of slip, I'm in two
and coming apart
-
The days have gone
We have seen the future
knowing this for so long
like a movie in a theater
Lets dance in our seats
has we know the outcome
because when the movies over
well be over and so far done...
-
Who knew?
