Wild Flower Poem by Inosha Dissanayake

Wild Flower

Tree child; O wild flower!

May you dance; free
as the rain falls
Sing; sweet and enchanting
as the bluebird calls

May your eyes sparkle
as you whisper; eager
to the honey butterfly
Smile; your cheeks
flushed, hands flying
as the wind brushes
your lips

Little fairy; O forest princess

May you find peace
in the petals, the dew drops,
the infinite sky
Seek the beauty in all things
complete and imperfect,
dying and undying

And may your free spirit
be a constant, endearing
wild flower
