Wild & Free Poem by Franklin M Kline

Wild & Free

Love a mystery so deep,
A secret none can keep,
A puzzle few can complete,
A patch of sinking sand on a slab of concrete.
Its essence so pure, its flame so bright,
Yet bound by chains of day and night.

Free will, a gift that is so rare,
The key to love's sweet affair
For without free choice, love is but a word,
A hollow echo, left unheard.

Imagine a world where love's decreed,
Where hearts are matched just like seeds.
Where every glance and each tender touch,
Is scripted, programmed, much too much.

In such a realm, love's spark would surely dim,
A loveless dance, a somber hymn.
For love without free will is surely naught,
A fragile bloom, all too quickly caught.

Love thrives on choices, some big some small,
The freedom to give, or to keep it all.
To choose the one who sets your soul on fire,
To nurture love with all of your desire.

Free will allows us to be strong and brave,
To love beyond the chains we crave.
To risk our hearts, to let them fall,
And to trust that love will catch us all.

Love's journey is a winding road,
With twists and turns, and a heavy load.
But with free will, we are able to navigate,
Through storms and calm, we embrace our sweet or bitter fate.

For love's true power lies deep within,
To choose to love, to let love in.
To open hearts and minds so wide,
And dance with love and let our hearts be our guide.

So let us celebrate our free will,
The essence of love's sacred thrills.
For without free choice, love would not be,
But a mere illusion, fleeting and carefree.

But with free will, love takes on flight,
A soaring eagle in the moonlit night.
It transcends all boundaries, chains and bars,
And binds two souls beneath the stars.

So cherish love, and hold it dear,
For it's a gift, both pure and clear.
And let free will guide your heart's decree,
To love with passion, so Wild & Free.
