Will Poem by Shijo Jose

Will

If I die breathing,
Will you stay by my side?
Will you pray for my life?
Will you then be satisfied?

If I quit talking,
Will I become an empty soul?
Will I lose my life's role?
Will I ever be consoled?

If I cry smiling,
Will you see the hidden tears?
Will you notice pain so sincere?
Will you then try to sneer?

If I slip trying,
Will I cry through the shame?
Will I fail to rise again?
Will I ever try to regain?

If I hide feelings,
Will you hear truth in my lies?
Will you see care in my eyes?
Will you then be pacified?

If I start lying,
Will I turn out the same?
Will I then end up insane?
Will I still be humane?
