WILLFUL IGNORANCE
Why, my people,
why do we worship willful ignorance
as if laziness is a lottery ticket?
We sit and scroll, yet keep blaming government ghosts for every gap in our goals.
'My uncle this… my aunty that…'
dueling in wishful thinking,
building castles in the clouds of complaints.
But clouds don't carry bricks,
and dreams without deeds are dried leaves in the wind.
Some sweat smart, some work hard,
some rise early to plant,
while others wait for manna on mattresses,
mistaking midnight movies for miracles.
Tell me—
who wins a race without running?
Who milks a cow they refuse to feed?
I mean, is more like we are no longer human but machines,
scrolling, swiping, seeking mirage popularity,
trading touch for tags,
hearts for hollow "likes."
How baffling it is; Parents and kids passing by like strangers in their own homes,
husbands and wives build walls via Wi-Fi,
friends and family vanish into virtual voids.
I mean, we cry "the system failed us"
but yet we refuse to fix our own very selves.
We chew excuses like cheap gum
and spit them at whoever will listen.
Why do we forget
that progress is planted, watered, and worked for?
So Wake up, my brother.
Reset your my sister.
Blindfolds don't make blessings
they make you miss them.
For Ignorance is not innocence,
it is a chain we choose to wear.
Think straight.
Work wise.
Live large by living real.
Because waiting on wishes
is like trying to charge your phone with fate...
you'll just stay in the dark.
So please pause and reflect or else stay in resentments through regrets.
Cordially Yours,
Love Artist ✍️
