Wind Chill Poem by Josilinia Plyman

Wind Chill

Rating: 5.0

Eyes set ahead,
hands to myself.
Why am I here?
Standing in filth.

Feel cold air warm
my skin made wet
by rain, that falls
to repay snow’s debt.

Tall grass shakes its head,
mimicking faces
filled with disappointment
and broken graces.

Sink my toes in the ground.
The earth makes way
for the my weight
shouldering burdens & pain

I forget to breathe so often
yet now I hear a gasp for air.
Yes, I inhale and claim life
held in my chest bare.

Maybe you'll join the wind
and in the road you'll find me -
looking for the way to you.
Or maybe I will just freeze
