Windward Poem by Grethe G. Bichel

Windward

Thank God for life's storms!
With the wind in my face
I have learned to travel
at a vigorous pace.

With the wind at my back,
All might be ease.
I'd not need to struggle;
Adversities might cease.

Then how could I strengthen
My mind and my soul?
How could I know
That pain makes whole,

That courage comes
From grief and strife?
I need the storms
To know calm in my life.
