Worlds she crosses, in dreams,
in darkness, past the light of day.
If to touch you dissolves her,
sends her atoms into oblivion,
this is how she wants to die.
She withers, with you,
russet in the gathering dark
Dust motes catching
the evening’s last sunlight.
Falling into your caress
She grows young in your arms,
Your blood is hers, every droplet
fans the flames of you.
She rises and you with her.
Night’s eternal beauty,
silent wings on the horizon.
