Looking at the sun stream through the trees
Feeling the chill in the wintery breeze
Bones begin to seize
Life starts to freeze
I dropp to my knees, and pray
Please let this change.
It maybe cold as winter bites
Early dark nights
The twinkling of lights
Snow covered sights
I have had enough of Christmas delights
Please let this change.
I have freezing hands and freezing feet
I struggle each day to make ends meet
Around a small fire for heat
Children playing in the street
When did we last eat?
Please let this change.
At least we have shelter from a storm
Some are homeless, lonely and forlorn
Children newly born
Their clothes mostly torn
It is those poor souls that I mourn
Please let this change.
More people are dying in their sleep
The memory of you I bury so deep
Tears I do weep
This fear I keep
That my soul this winter will not reap
Please do not let this change.
