Winter Poem by Daniel Potts

Winter

The nights move slowly when the darkness sets in
It's during those times the loneliness begins.
It steals in around as a for o're the sea
But does dissipate with thoughts of you with me.
You are the sun that burns mists away
You brighten my thoughts as the light of mid-day.
My heart becomes lighter, my spirit does soar
The happiness I feel comes my heart's very core.
It's the simple pleasures shared by us two,
Thats the strongest attraction for me to you.
I don't seek to change you, that's not my desire.
I don't want to diminish or lessen your fire.
The fire of ambition, the pursuit of your dream
You have my support, I am on your team.
Your happiness, your contentment are important to me
Behind you my strength and encouragement will be.
My admiration, my respect belongs always to you.
My actions, my words will always be true.
My feelings for you will not lessen or perish
As you are a LADY, I always will cherish.
