Winter Poem by Jessica Shaw

Winter

Cool breeze lazily flies
Leaving a feeling, oh so nice!
Suddenly you are aware of the lovely flowers,
Waiting for the rick in the sunny hours

Sleepy tussle with the warm bed,
Ignoring the arrival of another day one so dreads,
Procrastinating it further and further,
You snuggle up for one last slumber.

Shorts give way to pajamas,
T-shirts to sweaters,
Steaming tea cups replace cold iced tea,
As we all adjust to falling degrees

As the nights stretch longer,
And the splash of color on the trees become stronger
Oh dear winter we welcome thee,
As we jostle up for coming months with glee.
