Winter Chills Poem by Amanda Elizabeth Sanchez

Winter Chills

If I can wake up in the morning with the sun kissing my nose,
Instead of bitter cold biting my toes,
I'd be happy today.
But if I could just wake up and hear your breath,
Instead of listening to the hushing silence,
I'd be in love each day.
Now I awaken to quiet, aching, winter chills,
Instead of your warmth, your kiss, and sweet smells
Oh lonely morning, bring me happiness today.
