A heavy snow has fallen
And the boughs of fir trees lie burdened.
My father stands alone in the cold sunshine.
With a long pole he sets them free
And as they swing upwards
Powder shimmers down.
I think of you sleeping in the cold night,
Your white body warm beneath blankets.
Outside the land lies quiet under snow
While in the dark
Distant stars burn fiercely.
