Wishes Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Wishes

Like Stars
Like precious pearls across a velvet mantle
Like silky ribbons that beautify the altar
One by one they grace the night
Until they are full in attendance
Up, up in the sky they remain
Keeping vigil with the moon
And the lords of the night
Silently and patiently they wait
For the wind to whisper to them
The silent wishes of some
All you need to do
Watch and wait, then make a wish
