With Horses Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

With Horses

With horses

Soroush is a poet
-a Tajik by his birth!
We met and were friends
-have lost him
-we lack wealth
-cannot go to visit

We drove to join in carnival
-One shot and
-Second shot of Vodka
-and there on…

He became a baby and cried
-they came there on horses!
-mother was busy with daily work
-she had dough for bread
-near the son's grave
-the Uzbeks shouted, kicked
-wanted us to go, leave
-father died; heart attack
-had lost son
-now pride
-they had gun
-powerful
-we were not
-and were poor
-we buried dad there too
-I am left with my mom!

He took me to her and
-I kissed both of her hands!

Reagan was happy in
-his palace
-the White House

Western world's happiness
Had behind many pains
Turned to Hezb
-Al Tahrir
-fighting for freedom!
