With The Principle Of This Summer Poem by Pierre Rausch

With The Principle Of This Summer

You wanted more freedom
Described lifestyle for one night
I have no idea how you went on
From a sci-fi movie to marry someone
The plane made a ton of noise
Through the perfectly good plane
Hold a camera with trembling hands
Your voice cracked as you wrapped your arms

With the principle of this summer
Fell straight in and halfway landed
When I can protect her
Finally settled and can breathe
But wouldn't bother at all
A summer in the parking lot
Even move forward in life
Tuesday is my night off

Listened to American music
And the American award in absolute limbo
The counselor knows what she's doing
About ten that night, still July

With the principle of this summer
Fell straight in and halfway landed
When I can protect her
Finally settled and can breathe
But wouldn't bother at all
A summer in the parking lot
Even move forward in life
Tuesday is my night off

Let's sing about this warm month
I mean I don't look back
To a Rendezvous in an Italian restaurant
I mean I look forward

With the principle of this summer
Fell straight in and halfway landed
When I can protect her
Finally settled and can breathe
But wouldn't bother at all
A summer in the parking lot
Even move forward in life
Tuesday is my night off
