With You Poem by Laura Guthrie

With You

Hum in time forever,
I miss your fractious lobes.
To crumple, curse and cauliflower,
and burn the jackpot and the bower,
I fling my fingertips to shower
and scent around the rose.

The ripple on the lampshade,
the sense and saphit wild.
To roam the icy meatloaf hills,
where living wombats rein the thrills,
where peace and pulses crack the wills
and beckon to that child.

Duvets gently whisper,
snowflakes - chainsaws too.
Whatever maintenence is here
the softly swifting thorns are near,
but true as rain, I have no fear:
I'm in this cup
with you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Fun with nonsense. A love poem written in 2006, to prove that meaning goes deeper than literal sense. Anthologised in October 2010, in _Sunrise Over Machu Pichu: A Collection of Womens' Voices_ (WomenWords) .

Verse one is the passion and inner turmoil of infatuation.

Verse two is the actual journey of ups and downs that a couple goes on throughout a long-term, serious relationship.

Verse three is the coming full circle of deep-running love, having proved itself throughout a lifetime as the rock of ages.
