With You Vs. Without You (Sonnet #62) Poem by Tina Baaklini

With You Vs. Without You (Sonnet #62)

Without you, the world is a quiet desert
My heart feels alone, exiled on the moon
My mind roams over a cloud that diverts
While my soul hopes I'm back to normal soon

Without you, days, weeks, years are all alike
As clocks tick tock, I think of you nonstop
Why do trees whisper your name when I hike?
By the river I wait, pebbles I plop

With you, days are filled with joy and laughter
At night, stars turn to deep velvet candles
I dream of happily ever after
For living without you I can't handle

We're as one tree breathing glee in the woods
For our hearts, sown in God's garden, share roots
