Without Expression Poem by Charles Dawes

Without Expression

when you wait too long
feelings can change,
nails grow longer (as does hair) .
but my eyes dont work quite right,
all I see are the sad faces
looking back out at me.
the reflection of them
impressed on my mind.

time waits for no one.
even the dead get older
(however their nails and hair
keep on growing) .
if your slow on the draw
and take a bullet to the heart.
the ground wont judge you,
only silently consume
all that you are.

time is deaths only friend.
where ever one lurks
the other follows.
this to shall pass.
death will eventually claim me.
but time is on my side
because I know
that I am free.

I am free and loved.
if you dont care
(which I wholly expect)
thats just fine. just please,
keep walking by.
hopefully one day
you can be free too.
