Cannot am and will
This news that through me leaks
Of his and all that in him breathes
not more than 24 months more
to see and hear and feel

and read and know and blanche
and leap through the fire leap
and forward leaps this heart in me
while all that in him now cannot

not leap not breathe not smell
not feel not hope not go can

oh but i am full in and with
now am and will not allow
this incapacity to shape him

but must out and with him fight
this thing he will conceive
as purely mechanical when
i know full well
there nothing human is
can be called just that and only

and we will with gall leap
from out this thing and away from
all who would dictate
this limit to our time to
this end and failing of
when they have no right to

but should be saying
this and this and this you can
so do not be by this prognosis of
defeated

but this they will and can not
by their hearts be led
but must proscribe and all
according to the book call

which is quite insupportable
this refusal of and obduracy how
they will not think but must
just the job do and how it has
been given them to do do

is this and this and how it is
and nothing but i will allow
because if i did i'd have
to take the consequences of

and this i cannot do
which is why it is you will
do this i tell you to
