Without You Lord Poem by Astell Collins

Without You Lord

Lord without you what would my life be
And without your mercy what would become of me
Suppose there were no grace
In your kingdom, for me will there be a place?
I know for sin you have no tolerance
But for me I found forgiveness in abundance
What have I done to deserve such love?
And what can I do to remain the one you think of
I’ve failed despite my many attempts to do good
Shame uncovered for your glory like it should
You’ve allowed me to survive
When I thought it was time to thrive
Yet when I carried out an insignificant deed
You were right there empowering me to succeed
Without you I am a feast for the devourer
But with you I am more than a conqueror
