Woman Poem by Harshita Mann

Woman

I am No Goddess, to be worshipped,
I am No trophy, to be possessed,
I am No object, to be used,
I am No criminal, to be bruised,
I am No slave, to serve,
without a pay and say.
I am nothing as you portray.

I am me, a human with all rights to avail,
I am me, a human with ideas to be respected,
I am me, a human with needs to be understood,
I am me, a human with feelings to be expressed.

And a soul to be loved,
And a soul to be cared for,
And a soul to be nourished forever.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My first poem. I realised that poems are really the best way for me to express myself and my feelings.
