Saudatu Kabir

Woman - Poem by Saudatu Kabir

Woman they say is inferior and less intelligent
Yet she bore them those who feel superior
They grew inside her depending on what she eats
Yet when born they feel she’s half human
Their very first nourishment comes from the woman’s breasts
She feeds and tends to them till they are of age
Still they feel they are better than a woman

Awaken woman!
Arise from thy long slumber and sleep no more
Stand up to them those who thought they are wiser
Describe to them your rights
Woman you are the pillar of every home
Without you a home will be in shambles
Wise men!
If you are wise enough you should know
Woman is a treasure
If lost the world will crumble
