Woman In The Mirror Poem by Samantha DeWitt

Woman In The Mirror

The victim of circumstance
Rise to a challenge every day
Waiting for the fantastic chance
To see and blow them all away

No hatred marks this patient face
But love and understanding does
Allowing me to win the race
With those around me and above

But I also see a fighter
Someone who takes everything in
Tries to make burdens lighter
So that there will be peace again

I see a myriad of things
When I look at my reflection
Wishing at times, I had some wings
To break free of the connection

So here's to looking at oneself
Not sure of where I'm standing
But my reflection on myself
Will forever be demanding
