Whipping Block 'Terry's Poetry Contest' Poem by Samantha DeWitt

Whipping Block 'Terry's Poetry Contest'

Why do we allow a hurtful emotion like
Hate into our lives because
Ignorant, disrespectful, idiotic, and hurtful
People have nothing better to do than disrupt our sense of peace
Playing at making others miserable, just to make them feel better
Intimidating everyone and
No one in
General just to feel like kings and queens on the street
Before we, the turn the other cheekers
Looking in our own world and
Our hearts
Completely, lose our sanity
Killing our souls
