Wonderful - Wonderful Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Wonderful - Wonderful

Sixteenth August nineteen seventy-seven,
we could never-ever forget this date...
the sad day when Elvis sang no more.
He left his Memphis Mansion at
Forty-two years of age, and how the rain
poured down on Britain's shore.
Now in two thousand and ten we turn
another page, as in our thoughts
his name belongs.

In memory of Elvis Presley.
The great and wonderful singer of
Great and wonderful songs.
