Wonder-Lust Carnival Poem by Harley Ann

Wonder-Lust Carnival

The smell of buttery popcorn and funnel cake,
The sound of children laughing and playing all around,
Leaving here without a good time would be a mistake,
Even if the carnival is open year round,

The Ferris wheel taking people high in the sky,
Clowns all around to help with that frown,
The trapeze artists in the Big top soaring ever so high,
Oh so many problems don't let them get you down,

The funhouse near the west,
The carousel in the east,
The circus right in the middle,
Go in and rest your feet,

The Ringmaster engaging the audience in the show,
Baton Twirlers and Knife-throwers throwing knives,
The circus tent emitting a warm golden glow,
This entire place makes you feel ever so alive,

Don't worry when we finally close,
For tomorrow will be another great show,
Make sure to tell your friends and family,
About The Wonderlust Carnival.
