Word Is A Mirror Poem by Naih Garang

Word Is A Mirror

I am not a child
Of lesser God,
I have what it take to be good,
And what it need to be bad,
However, I am strong to also be a shield.

I give you what you ask for
But don't expect much more,
When you ask one and think of four,
Things don't work that way,
Stay put always never sway.

I am not a child of a warlord
But that of a real veteran,
Dumped and forgotten
Just like many others rotten
Or languishing under fake landlords.

You are not either a demigod
You are human though inhuman
And I know very well as a man
That you can be gotten in your throne
And your deeds will one day bring you down.

Listen and talk less
For all that a man spits
Paint him in public eye more unless
Your actions speak and sank you in pit,
Beware! What we say mean what we need.
Your word is your mirror.
