This is a poem I wrote about words and how they affect me personally and others, at least so I think
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But words will never hurt me
Unless used in certain tones
Or from certain people you see
Words can be stronger than any man
And cut deeper than any sword
It is hard to understand
How much you can be hurt by a word
It can't be seen like a hit
You'd think it doesn't exist
Because you can't see it
It's a crippling mist
Like the word love has so many powers
As well as goodbye
Love can make you smile for hours
While the second one will make you cry
A black eye can be sore
But an insult is so much stronger
It will hurt you far more
And the mental wound lasts much longer
So be careful of the words you use
Or just what it is you say
You could cause mental abuse
That doesn't go away
