Words Were Said Poem by Melissa Coventry

Words Were Said

Rating: 2.3

Don’t ask me why I said it,
And in the tone I did.
I will nod my head in agreement,
‘Yes ok, more then needed was said'
But do I regret the poison words
That flowed from my tongue?
‘Hell no! ’ and I will maintain it
Those viper words that began it…
‘You still see through that dark hole,
Of an empty port wine bottle’,
Do you see your life in ruins? Ah huh bet you do,
Too bad, oh pity. I care not anymore, (haven’t got the faith to)
‘So, so what for blood relation lady’,
You weren’t the mother you should have been,
It hurt... it hurts.
