Work It Out Poem by Brian Atrue

Work It Out

Weren't you the one
that couldn't be out done

where's ambition now
minding all your wounds

even broken clocks
get it right sometimes
and time is not your friend
somethings could never mend

weren't you the one
that taught me about fun

where's your laughter now
tending all your scars

even silent mimes
get it right sometimes
and time won't let you know
somethings will never show

the scars are thats left
you left it all behind
so if your mind forgets
and your eyes go blind
fate was still so kind

because the mind will not forget
and the heart is all regret
