Working For The Dwp Poem by Karl Newton

Working For The Dwp

When I was growing up
There were loads I wanted to be

A spaceman
A footballer
An architect
Master of the internet
A rock star guitarist
A pirate of the high seas

Life squashed all my dreams for me
And now I get pleasure from other peoples
Misery
Now I work for the DWP
If I can't have any of my dreams
Im gonna make sure no one else can either
The more sanctions I hand out
The quicker I'll be team leader
