Years And Lean Years Poem by Majid Gaggi

Years And Lean Years

Years and lean years lean and lean
Passed upon you, sir, Iraq of chastity
Dear, you the closest to the heart of its passion
You are in your place without progress or turning
You who was always in a high position
You welcome and receive the stranger
With the joy and hospitality
Your people still live on the subsistence
This is known to all known and not hidden
It is clear to all like sun light and crystal
Your wealth is plentiful and abundant
They turn you dry and nought for the people
And they among themselves agree and were light
After the corruption spread like poison flow
In the veins of your new leaders and your officials
In robbery and looting they were experts and pumice
They looted away thousands and thousands of millions
And they gather from the good things
And no one his eyelid rack or even became afraid
In front of the public each of them has a thousand speeches and chanting
When they will be nostalgic for you
Leaving behind all the hatred of the gull and deviation
And the bloc a sectarian gathering and queuing
To be united without any difference
For the public good, there will be no difference between them
So that the people and the country will rejoice again
