Yet Poem by Miranda Oney

Yet

White brilliance fills my vision,
yet I can still see you.
All is deathly quiet,
yet I can still hear you.

The pain is gone,
my mind is soon,
yet I don't want to let go.
Your eyes, those tears,
wanting to hold you,
yet I know I must go.

Drifting farther, farther still.
yet I still linger near you.
You shake, you yell, you curse the gods,
yet they still linger near you.

Cry, love, cry for me,
for you, for us,
yet it wasn't all in vain.
I saved you, loved you,
I lived only for you,
yet now all my life is leaving my veins.
