Yet I See Poem by Heather Iverson

Yet I See

Can I look with my eyes closed?
So I don't have to remember,
that sight, that haunting sight,
for the rest of my days?

Words fail me in this moment.
The only thing coming, sadness.
Turn away, never to look.
A memory never born;
yet I see.
