Yield Poem by Alyson Leoffler

Yield

You say you want to take it slow, but...
Baby, I don't know.
You take away my every ache and pain with the way you look at me.
I see not only the stars in the sky,
but I see the sun, the moon, my entire universe
In your eyes.
I try and try to slow it down
My mind is fighting for you,
But my heart says
PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL.
So I sit back
Watch you
Feel you
Taking my breath away.
Your skin on mine
Is absolutely right.
What am I supposed to do?
I'd like to give my all to you,
But the sign you wear says, 'Yield'.
