You are the glue that binds my days,
The leaven of my years
You are the hue of my delight
My pleasure and my tears.
Without you life would have no core
No pattern and no rhyme
You are the rudder of my fate
My season and my time
My days are blessed by things you do
You often bring me smiles
And tenderly you comfort me
When life is choked with trials
Today I need to pause and say
With heartfelt thankfulness
I’m so glad that you share my life
My failures and success
I love you for the boy you were
And as we both mature
I want to grow old by your side
Of this I’m wholly sure.
