You. Poem by Nihal Thekkath

You.

I long for the closure that i never got,
For the intimacy that i never recieved,
For the warmth i never felt,
To be held as close
In you, I look for all the things i lost,

I long for you to fill in the absences,
The holes, the pain, the cries
I wish us to make it to last,
I want you to paint over my black and white films, i want you to put on the
Black coat and the blue jeans, i want us to hold hands and watch the world end

I look for you in every mirror i see, many years later, I'll still look for you in every photo i see, in every stranger i'll meet

In every warmth i receive
In every closure,
In every pain,
In every mirror,
Who are you then, if not me!
Like a frame that i failed to capture,
A sunset that i never got to see,
Who are you, if not me.
