You Always Call Poem by Kevin Cox

You Always Call

You always call me
When it rains.
How do you know
My heart is sad.

As I sit by the window
And watch the rain;
My nose pressed to
The glass.

My thoughts are drawn to
A certain sadder time;
Then sadness grows
And shadows fall
all around me.

I try to turn
Away from what
Pursues me,
But, it; s no use
The pouring rain
has done it's deed
It has but filled
My heart
With tears

And just when I
Have sunk into
The blackest of shadows
I hear your voice;
But faint, as from
A distance.

You call my name
And bid me
Come to you.
