I wanted to hear your voice today.
Scream, shout, laugh, argue
Play. And name of this game
Is you and me.
We on a mission.

I wanted to see you smile at me.
To watch your hands reach for the sky
Instead a lonely heart leaves
With boundless thoughts and aspirations
And you lay in the midst of them.

I wanted to hear you sing today.
With the ferocity of a man
And a tenderness that blankets that sweet face
The strength of your conviction
Rings clear in the ear.

I wanted to see you today.
Truth is I want to see you everyday
Scream, shout, laugh, argue.
Join you with my hands reaching
For the sky. You and me, you and I.
