You And Me Poem by Paul Reed

You And Me

I think it's fair to say
That we made it
And the game of life
We truly played it

Hard, sometimes
But the rules we didn't break
And for our family
A future we managed to make

Joined in strongly
In life's eternal race
And did so gladly
With a smile upon our face

When sometimes it would have been easier
To let life's promises die
To put our heads in our hands
And break down and cry;

But we are still here
Forging, working and crafting
On life's rapids
White water rafting;

I think it's fair to say
That the game of life we played
And played it with joy
Until the light decides to fade.
