You And Me Poem by Arttika Chatterjee

You And Me

The flower that dreams of moon
has yet to see a last view,
A new period might come soon
before the last petal withers
for the birth of new;

But just like the withering petal
why can't my heart think to settle?
If the moon can go through phases
why can't I control my heart which races?
to reach a place where I can see,
walking through old memories
YOU and ME.

The moon looks prettier when it is full
The flower gets admired when it blooms,
The same way I am better as someone new
when I am with you.
Can you see my heart?
which beats so fast;
even if I want it to be calm
it won't stop, as if its our last.

Someday, somewhere far away
when our phase of time has won
I will walk back to the place I belong;
where we are not two separate,
but a whole one.
At the end when you see my whole story,
it would seem to be our last moment
though I am sorry;
Cause willing to let go is not bad
but holding you back will make me sad.

But just like the withering petal
why can't my heart think to settle?
If the moon can go through phases,
why can't I control my heart which races?
To reach the place where I can see
walking through old memories
YOU and ME.
