You Are Poem by Frank Avon

You Are

Rating: 4.5

the avocado of
my youth
the rose petal of
maturity,
the corduroy
of middle age,
of old age
my modicum

You are

silken
southerly
swan-like
serendipity

You are
the wildflower;
I am the weed.

You are
Queen Anne's lace
and chicory

I am
a dandelion
and ironweed.

Without you
I would be

flat
lost
loose
NOT

You are the

BE
of
Me
