You Are Mindful Poem by Gary James Smith

You Are Mindful

You Are Mindful

You are mindful of us O Father
How neglectful most are of that fact
While Satan continually comes against us
You always have had our back
How precious Thy Word to sustain us
Our Spiritual treasure within
Its pages woven with the crimson thread
Our Sacrificial offering from Heaven

O what joy when faith arises
To know You savingly
To see sin as the dart that it is
To destroy us eternally
Your sinlessness our blessed hope
For that I praise You Lord
The Word, Yourself, becoming flesh
To make our Salvation assured

O to penetrate the heart
To see its lost estate
Your Word and Spirit tandemly
Show forth Heaven's gate
That Cross still so significant
Which settled our sins account
Still offers freely grace and mercy
When our sins are tantamount

To learn the meaning of repentance
Should be taught at an early age
To bring to point the thought of Heaven
That there is....life! ... after the grave
He already knows your tomorrow
And He'll take care of you today
Has your heart been settled in His Word
May you be mindful of that thought today

Lord squeeze our hearts till they're drained of self
May Thy grace be sufficient for me
The load of sin is too heavy to bear
Praise God we have Calvary
And prayer our substance to request
Lord Jesus come into my heart
And with my tongue I now confess
With Your life I'll make a new start...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
