You Are Never Old Enough For Me Poem by Sandra Black

You Are Never Old Enough For Me

Your wispy silver hair
And your superlative flair
The wise things you say
And how you shy to pray
You are never old enough for me

The way you read the news
The way you run from pews
The way you were all snow-white
And I suffered a sorry plight
You are never old enough for me

The way you laugh and sing
The way you true joy bring
The way you ruffle up my feathers
When you wrestle with others
You are never old enough for me

The way you make up
The best way sunny-side up
The way you approach
Without a sense of reproach
You are never old enough for me

The way you touch my hair
Therein lies your flair
When you kiss the soft cheeks
Of my own twin peaks
You are never old enough for me

The wisdom in your eyes
You betray a lot of spice
I marinate in their juices
And seek approval of the muses
You are never old enough for me

Age is just a number
And physical beauty skin deep
In your mind you are a teen
I wake up from my eternal slumber
You are never old enough for me
