You Are The Detail Poem by J.C. Masa

You Are The Detail

I've been screaming your name in silence,
Through a paper trail—
Not for you to figure out or decode my words,
Because you are already the detail.
The essence of you is embedded in every sequence,
Hoping our love will prevail.

Jarring thoughts war between my heart and soul,
Questioning how I can face this reality alone.
Perhaps the hindrance is the shadow of a sorrowful ghoul,
Or my own ego—for never letting my true words be known.

Amidst the antagonizing chaos, I remain hopeful,
For this feeling is far from frivolous—
It is the reason I remain faithful,
Even if my heart must endure it alone,
And loving you means waiting in the unknown.
