You are the ones
I thought I could run to.
When tears are streaming
Down my face.
You are the ones
I thought I could go to,
When my hope has been misplaced.
You are the ones I thought
I could depend on,
When all else failed.
You are the ones I thought
I could hide in,
When pain was all I felt.
But no,
You turned the other way.
My problems caught up and
You went astray.
No,
You chose I was too much,
The burdens I carry
Were too big of a fuss.
And now,
I’m left all alone,
The ones I thought were there
Have gone home.
Now,
I must deal on my own.
No arms to fall into,
I must go alone…
Broken hearted,
And you turned me away.
The blue sky once above me
Has turned gray.
My smile has been replaced with a frown,
And these tears of
Mine will not stop raining down..
You are the ones I thought
I could go to
When this life
Turned against me.
