You Are Too Much Poem by Kevin Wang

You Are Too Much

Still alive
But barely breathing
On this summer night
Where I broke myself apart

Fluttering like a new born baby bird
Still growing, learning
About how to flap my wings
For its just a complexity I just can’t solve

Still dreaming
But in a state of comatose
On this summer night
Where I thought about you

Wandering ‘round this record
Spinning ‘round and ‘round
Scratching parts and parts
Which are skipped when played

Still running
But can’t stop
Stop thinking about you
As I fumble around with my heart
Wishing it’d stop thumping like thunder
When you’re near

The only thing
That’ll make me stumble, falter
Thumping like thunder
Is you
And only you
