You Brought Me Flowers Poem by Jinge Norvall

You Brought Me Flowers

Rating: 5.0

You brought me flowers long ago
On special days back when
You loved me still, or thought you loved
The girl you'd married then

You brought me flowers long before
You knew my faults and weakness;
Back when you found me beautiful,
And faults just went unnoticed

You brought me flowers way back when
You cared how I would feel
But now it's just a memory,
Can't believe that it was real

You brought me flowers long ago,
But now they're dead and gone;
You brought me flowers - withered now
Like loves' brief fading song

The petals have been trampled,
Their perfumed scent is gone;
Love & respect lie crumpled
Like petals on the ground.
