You Finding Me Poem by Wendy Brasher

You Finding Me

Wondering through the darkness, no way out.
I couldn't find the light, though I knew it must be bright.
Screaming for help, but no one would answer.
The hope drained from me, but the longing to be home was still there.
I curled into a ball, finally ready to give up.
I closed my eyes and wished for you to be there.
All hope was fading, no relief in sight.
I opened my eyes and there you stood a stow away in the night!
You took my hand with love and led me out.
I was lost, but you brought me back to the light.
For that I owe you my life.
